Sperian launches DuraMaxx™, a new generation of goggles

The French National Health Insurance Fund (Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie des Travailleurs Salariés) conducted a report on workplace accidents in 2007. According to these statistics, eye-related accidents in construction and public works accounted for 4.3% of workplace accidents with leave, 2.1% of accidents resulting in permanent incapacity to work (PI) and 5% of days of leave due to temporary incapacity to work (TI). In the steel industry, eye accidents accounted for 5.6% of workplace accidents with leave, 2.2% of accidents resulting in PI and 1.4% of days of leave due to TI.

The observed lack of safety precautions was blamed on the numerous constraints felt by end users, who failed to sufficiently measure the risks they were taking. As a result, they did not use adequate protective equipment or stopped using them altogether.
