A design star awarded to Sperian Protection for its Temptation® Elite safety shoes collection

The Observeur du Design* has
just awarded a design star to the partnership of Sperian Protection and
Inoveo Design, an agency specialising in product design, for the
development of its new Temptation® Elite collection of safety shoes,
specially designed for women.
The
Observeur du Design is a French prize created by APCI (Agence pour la
Promotion de la Création Industrielle), which, every year since 1999,
has celebrated the best innovations brought about by collaboration
between industrialists and designers.
Sperian
Temptation® Elite is one of 35 products to win awards of the 183
products put forward. The international jury particularly liked the
concept of safety shoes for women.
A feminine design
The theme of
the 2009 Observeur du Design, “Beautiful and useful design”, proved a
great inspiration to Sperian Protection and Inoveo Design.
“We are
attentive to the specific requirements of women in their working
environment for comfortable and elegant equipment. Working with Inoveo
Design to develop Temptation® Elite, our distinct aim was to avoid just
adapting a masculine product to women. We wanted to create a new model
designed in direct collaboration with its intended users,” declares
Brice de la Morandière, Chief Executive Officer of Sperian Protection.
It was with this in mind that the new range of footwear was born.
The public
will be able to discover Temptation® Elite footwear until 21 February
2010 at the La Villette Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie science
museum as part of an interactive and educational exhibition. Products
that were awarded stars will eventually be part of various travelling
design exhibitions in Europe and around the world. This will be the opportunity for Temptation® Elite to compete in the “World Best Design Exchange” in Seoul in 2010.
Sperian Temptation® Elite, elegance and protection combined
This
collection of 9 styles of safety shoe is targeted specifically at
women, whether they work in logistics, transport, light industry, a
laboratory environment, corporate catering or the service industry.
The lines
provide optimum, yet discrete, protection. The shoes are designed to be
attractive and retain a certain sophistication while incorporating a
safety toecap, imperceptible when worn and adapted to the female foot.
The ultra-resistant Healthtech®
Bamboo lining is made of a combination of bamboo charcoal fibres and
polyester. It provides integral comfort and combines antiperspirant,
odour control and temperature regulation properties.
The shoes in
the range have a BACOU Elite sole made of two materials and with a
fluid, feminine shape. Made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and
Nitrile, the shoes have fantastic grip and are resistant to abrasion.
They have an EVA heel insert for increased comfort and flexibility as
you walk.
A new Premium
200 Joules toecap adds the finishing touch to these shoes. It is
non-magnetic and insulates against both cold and heat.
Finally, depending on the model, a non-metallic anti-perforation sole gives added protection.
