New Howard Leight Neutron™ Earplugs Protect from Moderate Noise, Enable Better Communication
2011-12-16
Honeywell Safety Products
introduces the Howard Leight® Neutron™ multiple-use earplug — new
personal hearing protection that safeguards workers against moderate levels of
hazardous noise without compromising communication.
"Most earplugs today don’t
provide ideal attenuation for moderate hazardous noise levels. As a
consequence, many workers are overprotected and unable to effectively
communicate with co-workers or hear their machines, and are isolated from their
surroundings," said Renee Bessette, COHC, Global Brand Manager for Howard Leight/Honeywell Safety Products.
"With a moderate level of
attenuation, Neutron earplugs better connect workers with their environment —
for improved situational awareness and workplace safety. Workers are both protected
and connected," she said.
In addition, Neutron earplugs
feature:
·
A soft TPE foam material and longer, more comfortable,
swept-back flanges that provide for an easy, intuitive fit inside the ear canal
· A sleek, modern earbud
design and translucent light blue colour that appeal to younger workers
· A detachable cord that adapts
to personal preferences or job requirements, and in high-visibility yellow that
facilitates safety inspections
Appropriate for noise levels of 80-95
dBA (per ISO EN-458), Neutron earplugs (SNR 20) are ideal ear protection in moderate
noise environments such as pharmaceutical production, transportation services,
utilities, general manufacturing, and entertainment venues.
"The good news is that
workplaces throughout Europe are getting quieter. The bad news is that workers
can still suffer permanent hearing loss from prolonged unprotected exposures to
moderate levels of hazardous noise," Bessette said.
