Miller EPIC ULTRA Barrier System

The Miller EPIC ULTRA Barrier System is the forerunner in edge protection and inspired the way temporary fall prevention is addressed within the construction industry. The steel mesh barrier design addresses a variety of end-user focused needs – durable, strong, adjustable and lightweight.

The Miller EPIC ULTRA Barrier System combines the guardrails, toeboard and steel mesh barrier into one product. It is suitable for protecting workers at the edge of horizontal or low-sloping surfaces for a wide range of applications. The lightweight, impact-absorbing steel mesh barrier is strong and durable and is designed with closed-return for greater debris containment.

ULTRA Barrier
Tightly engineered steel mesh design; height adjustable. Maximum post spacing 8 ft. (2.4 m).

Half ULTRA Barrier
Tightly engineered steel mesh design; height adjustable.

Safety Post
galvanized steel construction and designed with the Quiclox auto-locking mechanism to secure the post into the base; Length: 47.24 in (1200 mm)

Adjustable Safety Post
galvanized steel construction and designed with the Quiclox auto-locking mechanism to secure the post into the base; Length: 59.06 in (1500 mm)

Jamb Base
Mount to vertical surfaces from slab edges and upstands to walls, shaft sides and reveals. Attaches with two (2) bolts.

Filigree Base
Designed for use with pre-cast concrete slabs. The Filigree Base allows barriers or guardrails to be pre-installed at ground level and lifted into position with the pre-cast unit, avoiding the need to work at height unprotected.

Multi-Foot Base
Used for horizontal surface applications, most commonly at the slab edge or for stair applications. The three points of support allow accurate installation on an uneven surface and ensure that the anchor load is correctly controlled. The Multi-Foot Base can be through-fitted using a variety of anchors appropriate to the base material. Hole size diameter 0.71 in. (18 mm) for fastening base.

Cast-In Tray
Designed to protect the Multi-Foot Base (M1290) when attached to the structural slab before the finishing concrete is laid. The Cast-In Tray permits concrete of up to 1.97 in. (50 mm) to be poured around the Multi-Foot Base, leaving access for easy removal and even re-use of the Cast-In Tray. After the Multi-Foot Base and Cast-In Tray have been removed from the concrete, the small void can then be filled.

Lumber Beam Base; Top flange thickness 2.36 in. (60 mm)
Used to quickly and easily attach to wood soffit form beams and proprietary forming systems. Provides shuttering and edge protection support.

Lumber Beam Base; Top flange thickness 1.57 in. (40 mm)
Used to quickly and easily attach to wood soffit form beams and proprietary forming systems. Provides shuttering and edge protection support.

Front Base
Mounted vertically and used both as an edge protection and shuttering support. Using a single anchor point, a wide range of applications can be covered. Anchoring methods include form ties, threaded bar, drilled and cast-in sockets.

Multi-Clamp Base
The most versatile attachment covers a wide range of applications. It can clamp horizontally or vertically over a thickness from 0.79 in. (20 mm) to 19.69 in. (500 mm)using the reversible jaw.

Steel Jaw Clamp Base
Ensures a secure attachment to steel beams and columns. The jaws can be repositioned on the body to increase the offset or to attach in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Accommodates beam sizes 8 in. (203.2 mm) to 16 in. (406.4 mm).

Verti-Clamp Base
An attachment that clamps to thin steel sheets up to 5.91 in. (150 mm) thick. Reversible jaws.

Steel Clamp Base
A small stable clamp attachment for steel. It can be mounted on the flanges of large steel beams, plate girders, or directly to flat road plates. Grips to steel between 0.39 in. and 1.97 in. (10 mm and 50 mm) thick. It can be used vertically or horizontally.

Variable Angle Base
An attachment for pitched or flat roofs, slabs, slab edges, walls, etc. The post socket can be set at five (5) different angles between 0˚ to 90˚ to the base plate.

Ground Support Base; Not for fall prevention.
Used for restricting access beyond the line of the barrier, such as excavations, traffic areas or crowd control. Can be anchored or used with counterweight to prevent unintentional movement. 47.05 in. (1195 mm) x 7.64 in. (194 mm)

Cast-In Sleeve
For use in newly cast concrete. Insert sleeve and allow concrete to cure. Remove the cap and a barrier system can now be installed.

ULTRA Barrier Adjuster
The ULTRA Barrier Adjuster allows the barrier to be adjusted in height without having to dismantle the system.

Barrier Hinge
A small device to fasten barriers together. The Barrier Hinge also provides easy access. Corners can be created at angles from 76° to 284° when attached to the end of the barriers, and can also provide angled corners at any position along the barrier.

ULTRA Barrier Box
For ease of transport, loading and unloading, the ULTRA Barrier Box holds a maximum of 50 barriers. Can be lifted with chains, slings or forklift.

Multi-Box for Post & Bases
The Multi-Box is designed for the efficient and safe handling, transport and storage of material. The side hatch can be folded down for access to stacked boxes or for ergonomic handling of material. Can be lifted with chains, slings or forklift.

The CombiStrap Connector is a webbing strap with a locking buckle used to connect adjacent barriers.
